'Tis the season

Hey Everyone,

Just a quick post to let you know that we are still alive. Sorry I have been so lazy with the blog but we have settled into a steady routine of mundane rituals and none of them seem particularly worth noting at the moment.

December has sprung upun us quite suddenly and, in the flat, we have decided to celebrate by setting up fairy lights and other sparkly decorations in the living room. We are planning a flat christmas party next week sometime before half the members of the house go home from Christmas.

In other exciting news...we now have a flat 'cleaning rota', inspired by the more uptight members of the group, where boys and girls clean in alternate weeks - this weekend is the boys weekend, it will be interesting to see the outcome given that Edson has declared he is founding a 'polluters club' in revolt.

Starbucks has been giving me a steady stream of prizes for a competition that has been running for a few weeks but that I seem to be the only one entered in. Jack has been working at All Bar One and has made MASS amounts of tips (best on record is £50 for 5 hours work) so his tips fund our weekly groceries and expenses and the rest of our wages go to more important things (like going to italy and spain...)

Winter has brought upon a fresh new assault of wind and rain but also some very pretty christmas lights around the city centre (and a greatly increased number of drunken stumblers on the street at night time). The lights on the main street, Princes Street, are spectacular and there is even a big ferris wheel, an ice rink and a German festival that sells sausages and cheese.

We are looking forward to Christmas but will definitely miss the sun, the sea, the sky and the barbecues - the way a real christmas should be done.
