Working At Last

Good new everyone! We both have full time jobs and a new house (and it sucks!). No, it doesn't really suck, it can just be easy to forget how much you your love job when you are dragging yourself out of bed at 6:30 in the morning after a 3 month holiday of sleep ins, 3 course meals and the beach.

I am working at Starbucks during the week and at a little cafe in a real estate agent on the weekend. The little cafe (where I am now) consists of reading books, eating and on the rare occasion that someone comes for a coffee, pressing the 'cappucino' button on the machine. Starbucks is a little more intense, I have a massive workbook to go through before I'm fully trained and they have compulsory 'coffee tasting' sessions 3 times a day where you make black coffee out of different blends of bean and then taste it with different types of food and comment on how they taste different. To be honest, I think everyone is making it up. A good example it 'mmm this one is slightly acidic with a strong floral aroma...it's quite bold and heavy whereas the other one smells a bit nutty and is milder and smoother' whereas in reality they both taste EXACTLY THE SAME!!

Jack is working in a bar at a really fancy restaurant called 'The Dome' on George Street which is where all the posh people go out. He has to know over 25 cocktails and serve like 50 different types of Whisky! He has been doing 5pm till 1am shifts and I've been doing day shifts but we are planning on organising to have the same days off during the week.

Also, in other exciting news, we have found a house! It is actually the only house that we even looked at but it's perfect! It is a massive share house with 8 other people all from different parts of the world (they speak Spanish!) We are moving in tomorrow (we have been in a hostel since leaving Gordon's house)

Christmas fever is starting (I had to go to a 'tasting meeting' at Starbucks to taste all the new drinks, Eggnog latte is really gross!) Depending on how we are going we might go somewhere for Christmas, otherwise we'll sit in the cold and miss the Australian summer!
